Final Meeting and Project Closure

End of November all 4D-FORMAT consortium partners consisting of the Institute of Interdisciplinary Mountain Research (Austrian Academy of Sciences), the Department of Geodesy and Geoinformation (TU Wien) and the Department of Forest Inventory, Department of Forest Ecology and Soils, Department of Natural Hazards (Austrian Research Centre for Forests) met in Innsbruck for the final project meeting and project closure. All partners presented their final findings and future activities in the field of forest moisture mapping based on multi-temporal earth observation signatures. Benefits and challenges of methods of field data sampling, close-range sensing and the data integration into Copernicus Sentinel-1 and Sentinel-2 time series have been discussed in detail. We are looking forward to a further fruitful cooperation in future based on 4D-FORMAT results.
